Who We Are
Burma Podcast Network – BPN was born out of a love for audio storytelling and the classic radio dramas of Myanmar’s past.
After the Spring Revolution in February 2021, millions of Myanmar civilians and activists were forced into exile in neighbouring countries, many settling along the Thai–Myanmar border. During that time the three co-founders met remarkable people from diverse backgrounds—different ages, professions, life journeys and forms of activism.
After hearing many powerful human stories, the need to document and share them with a wider audience became clear. In response, three young people in Mae Sot began recording the very first episode in November 2022, produced in a small home studio. That show — Rebel Wisdom – ဥာဏ်သူပုန် Podcast — became the foundation stone of what would later grow into the Burma Podcast Network.
Today Burma Podcast Network host 15 podcast series in collaboration with researchers, award-winning journalists, poets, authors, artists, mental-health specialists, landmine-advocacy organisations, gender-based-violence awareness institutions, and media-freedom and human-rights groups. Some series are limited; others run on an ongoing basis. All are produced with care to inspire positive social impact and foster dialogue built on respect.
